Homemade Texas Hash

A perfect healthier substitute for Hamburger Helper, this Texas Hash is both tasty and satisfying.

Ingredients

1 lb 99% fat free ground turkey or 1 Yves Meatless Ground Package 2 15-oz cans diced tomatoes no salt added
1 medium onion diced
2 large bell peppers diced3 tablespoons chili powder
2 15-oz cans kidney beans drained and rinsed
1/2 cup brown rice

Directions

Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Drain and rinse beans. Chop tomatoes and bell peppers. In a sauce pan, sauteĢ onion and bell pepper in 1/2 cup water, until onions are translucent, about 5 minutes. Add ground beef, chopped tomatoes, rice, chili powder, and beans, until mixed very well. Place casserole mixture in a 9 by 13 casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees for an hour and a half, or until rice is done.

Tips

To make this dish meat free, substitute Ives Meatless Ground for the ground turkey.
