Split Pea Soup


Dry peas have never tasted so good. Split pea soup is comfort food at its best.


1 cup split peas dry
4 cups water
1/2 cup celery diced
1/2 cup carrots diced
1/4 cup onion diced
1 bay leaves
2 tablespoons onion flakes dried
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon thyme fresh


In a covered medium size pot, bring split peas and water to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.

Add remaining ingredients and simmer covered for 45 minutes.
